Personality Development Training for Students of the Bachelor of English Study Program, Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University

In order to improve students' soft skills, the Bachelor of English Study Program at Udayana University conducted a Student Personality Development Training which took place at the Widya Sabha Mandala Hall, Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University on February 26 – March 1, 2022.


The event was attended by students of the Bachelor of English Study Program, the coordinator of the Bachelor of English Study Program, as well as the committee consisting of lecturers and students.




The resource person in this training is Adi Tusanjaya, an alumnus of English Literature at Udayana University who also works as a broadcaster, professional MC, public speaking practitioner, tourism ambassador, and entrepreneur.




The chairman of the committee, Ni Luh Putu Krisnawati, S.S., M.Hum in her report said that this training aims to improve student personal branding as a form of student personal development. Adjusting to the situation that is still in a pandemic condition, participants are limited to only 40 people consisting of English Literature students batch 2021.




Head of the Bachelor of English Study Program, Dr. I Wayan Mulyawan, S.S., M. Hum expressed his appreciation to the resource person who is willing to share information related to Personal Branding to the English Literature students. The Head of the Study Program hopes that this material can be useful for students in developing their personalities which will certainly be very useful for their future. The Head of the Study Program emphasized the importance of personal branding in order to open up greater opportunities for the careers of students their age when they finish their studies later.




In his presentation, Adi said that personal branding is very important for everyone to introduce and sharpen one's image. Personal branding makes it easier for others to remember us, to make choices and have a focused career. Value, skill, and attitude are the main components, while total look, uniqueness, and authenticity are additional components in portraying ourselves in public. Personal branding is not an artificial image, but it should be done sincerely, honestly and be authentic. In his presentation, Adi also conveyed strategies to build daily personal branding and how to image ourselves on social media.


The students were very enthusiastic about participating in this training and were very active in the presentation session. They were also eager to answer every question from the speakers. During the discussion session, many questions arose from the participants related to personal branding and how to shape themselves to be even better.


The event ended with the handover of a certificate from the Head of the Bachelor of English Study Program to the speakers and moderator as a thank you and finally, closed with a group photo.
