This international accreditation is one of the targets given by the university’s Rector to humanities study programs in Unud. BoE is one of the study programs who will participate in FIBAA.
“We have acknowledged that our Rector has given us a target to participate in FIBAA, following our success in achieving AUN-QA International Certification. This target might be challenging, but it is not impossible to achieve, since we have a solid team and complete administrative data” said I Nyoman Aryawibawa, Ph.D.
The Vice Dean’s optimistic statement was based on BoE’s success in achieving AUN-QA International Certification. BoE’s experience in AUN-QA could be a strong asset to participate in FIBAA International Accreditation.
In this occasion, the Head of the faculty’s Quality Assurance Unit, Silvia Damayanthi, S.S., M.Hum. explained that FIBAA is not only a challenge for BoE, but also for the QA unit. It is certain that participating in FIBAA needs a solid teamwork both in study program level and faculty level so that the expected results can be achieved optimally.
An explanation regarding the readiness of the English Literature Study Program to participate in FIBAA accreditation was delivered by Prof. Dr. I Gusti Ayu Gde Sosiowati, M.A., as the head of the Task Force team for this accreditation.
“After I studied some of the documents we have, I think preparing documents for FIBAA accreditation will be easier, because at the time of AUN-QA certification we have prepared very complete documents. Perhaps the only drawback is that some documents have not been translated into English,” said Prof. Sosiowati.
Prof. Sosiowati is very optimistic that BoE will be able to achieve the expected result in FIBAA International Accreditation, since it has been able to pass “Candradimuka Crater” (re: difficult times) in the previous international certification and accreditations.
As the representative of the University Quality Assurance Unit (LP3M), Dr. Seri Malini, M.Hum. expressed that BoE is more than prepared to participate in FIBAA International Accreditation. “We have a timeline for the accreditation’s preparation. Based on the timeline, it is clear that we have to go through some work sequences. It seems that BoE has worked advanced beyond the target timeline, so it is one extra point for us”, said Dr. Seri Malini.
The Coordinator of BoE, Dr. I Wayan Mulyawan, S.S., M.Hum. who led the meeting, hopes that all of the team members will be more solid in facing FIBAA International accreditation, since it is a big responsibility given by the institution to BoE. As the follow-up, BoE’s task force will work together in the next two weeks to identify problems that may be faced in each criterion required by FIBAA. By identifying the problems, the best solutions can be immediately made. The key to success in FIBAA International Accreditation is nothing but the solidarity of the task force in working together.
