Curriculum
The curriculum is designed based on constructive alignment with the expected learning outcomes, reflecting four learning domains (1) attitudes; (2) knowledge; (3) general skills and (4) special skills. The curriculum as the base of the learning process is executed by teaching and learning methods, and is evaluated by learning assessment. The curriculum aims to promote active learning, learning to learn and life-long learning. The courses are developed based on the student-centered point of view. The learning environment which helps students to construct basic and specific knowledge is provided through lecture hours, laboratory and professional practice.
The core courses in the first and second semesters strengthen students’ English language skills. In this level, students are only expected to recall structure or theories and understand principles. In higher levels of study, students will get specialized courses which have more complexity, and they will further have to apply the knowledge in different settings.
In the third and fourth year, students will take the English and Literature Track focusing on helping students to use English effectively while the English for Specific Purposes Track aims to help them to be able to use English in various business settings. The courses train students to be able to apply knowledge, solve problems, analyze situations, and create a new piece of work.
